How we built a million dollar water startup. Mywater.
It all started at a Mediterranean Beach which inspired a Startup to Tackle Plastic Pollution. The future is climate tech and we were out to go make an impact. We knew water needed to be disrupted.
One of the most beautiful places in the Mediterranean for sailing is the Kornati archipelago. As the warm breeze carried a sailing boat between picturesque Kornati islands beach, we stop and I jumped over the side, swimming too near beach. In just 50 meters I saw 3 bottles and in the right corner of the beach a water canister and a huge pile of half-decomposed bottles and bottle tops. We were in the national park, far from the mainland – it didn’t make any sense. It was a defining moment that sparked my journey towards creating MYWATER Technologies, a groundbreaking solution aiming to revolutionize water management and combat the global plastic crisis.
The vision behind MYWATER Technologies stems from the profound understanding that water, the essence of life, should be used and treated with utmost respect and care. We have to change the way we stay hydrated, by stopping using single-use water bottles. Plastic pollution has become a pervasive threat, infiltrating our oceans, contaminating marine life, and disrupting fragile ecosystems. Determined to make a difference, I find co-founders and set out on a mission to create a sustainable, eco-conscious alternative that would address this pressing environmental issue head-on.
