How to raise a $400M VC fund. Start a podcast like Harry Stebbings

Since we talk about Venture capital it would probably be good to write about one of the biggest themes this year. How a young podcaster managed to raise $400M fund and how his podcast and content have helped massively. This is with someone without any particular background building a startup.

We have talked a lot about how Y Combinator (one of the world's most successful VC's) is full of exited founders and why most VC's don't have startup experience.

We do believe that in fact and it has been proven by YC the Best VC's do in fact have operational experience in actually building and or exited their business. This helps to understand founders better as its so hard to build a startup only people who have actually been through it have ideas of how hard it is to actually build.

Why do most VC’s not have startup experience. Because Building a startup is so HARD.
If you look anywhere most VC’s do not have startup experience. Why is this the case. Because any true founder will tell you directly. Building a startup is certainly one of the hardest things you can do. The chance of making it is so extremely small. I have worked in finance and been through techstars. I know about both sides.

What to learn
For anyone out there creating content is essential for your business. Whether you are starting a small b2c brand or you are trying to grow just about anything starting to create interesting content is essential

I know plenty of high quality founders and ex finance people that have failed to raise a VC fund - so maybe they should start a podcast?
