When i built a startup, i automatically thought meta and google would want me. They didn't
Its what we hear time and time again. Startup founders who have tried to build a startup or who have even make a small startup think that other startups like stripe, meta, google will want you.
THEY DONT
This is the misconception to think that just because for example stripe is a "startup" their founders will want other founders. Wrong, these companies will go for MBA type hires instead. Dont be fooled to think that they will automatically come running for you. Its hard and competitive to get into them.
How can you adapt?
You can learn by realising and thinking hard about whether building a startup is worth doing and the risks that are involved.
